2009 - My Year in Status
January:
-is watching football playoffs.
-is trying to get back into the regular routine.
-is frustrated....
-wishes a Happy 4th Birthday to Colton! I can't believe my youngest child is so old now!!
-knows what 90 miles per minute feels like.... let the weekend begin!
-is cold, very cold.
-is not enjoying the sick-bug around here.
-is going to make this bad-weather day enjoyable! We will get along here at the Gautreaux House today.
-is reading the entire Bible in chronological order with Jason. This will be incredible!
-just bought my first ever album on iTunes. I usually just buy individual songs.
February:
-wonders why?!?!
-is working on our taxes.... no whammies!
-just finished my day's cleaning. And spent time unclogging the toilet - the art work of a 4 year old.
-is excited for the weekend =)
-is going to see my dear friend Abby have her baby today!!
-is blah....
-is not quite sure how to tackle my to-do list today.
-is riding out the storm. We're not in the closet yet!!
-is totally feeling the effects of last night's lack of sleep.
-and Courtnie are being spoiled by our boys. Happy Valentine's Day!
-is remorseful for volunteering. I know better than to do something like this!
-is patiently waiting for the kids' energy to wear off today.
-is under the weather and catching-up on my blog.
-says "THANK YOU for all my birthday wishes!"
-is so ready for my kids to go to bed tonight. I'm exhausted and need time with my husband. What a day!
March:
-wonders if my new screen door will be completely installed this afternoon....
-needs to tackle her ever-growing to-do list. But important things first - blogging!
-is excited... my strawberries are bigger and my lettuce is sprouting!
-is just not with it today.
-saw her oldest child stand up for what's right and wrong. A proud moment for a parent!
-is practicing patience already today.
-LOVES her husband!!!!
-is singing, "rain, rain go away..."
-is making omelettes (with ham and cheese) for dinner. Also on the menu is bacon and biscuits and gravy. Yum!
-had a better day today, thanks to retail therapy!
-is not amused by leaky refrigerators. But guess it's better we were here and noticed rather than -being gone all day or on vacation.
-is glad that the refrigerator is fixed. Kids are now gone and our date night is on =)
-is headed out of town with the fam for a baseball tournament. Looking forward to a fun and exciting weekend!
-needs prayers for my uncle who is now out of surgery after a near massive heart attack.
-is now headed to storytime and has a lunch date with good friends!
-loves a rainy night!!
-needs to make a to-do list and get busy.
-is packing for a dance competition in Tyler tomorrow.
April:
-is really tired.
-is headed to Cameron's baseball game. (I'm still tired.)
-has no real agenda for today...
-is headed out to dinner with family.
-is watching Jason try to pull Courtnie's tooth. It MUST come out tonight, it's bleeding and bothering her. And why is Colton naked?
-is enjoying this Sunday curled up on the couch reading a book.
-thinks someone needs to come clean her floors. I haven't bought a new Flip-It yet (I can't part from this - it sweeps AND mops) and doesn't own a regular broom and dust pan. Any takers?
-is excited to meet tonight with my dear friends tonight in our Book Club.
-has a BUSY Tuesday!
-cannot get her days straight this week. I am looking forward to this holiday weekend.
-just took Cameron to his first paying job - mowing a lawn! When did he get so big?!
-has a big to-do list today, most of which is cleaning.
-is getting Courtnie ready for dance and Cameron ready for baseball.
-has a sore throat and is ready for bed already.
-is loving having a Friday off with the fam!
-is ready to put these kids to bed and have some "US" time.
-wishes my FB friends a HAPPY EASTER!!
-"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die." -- John 11:25-26
-is enjoying a quite (and rare) moment of downtime at home. Guess I should get up and get some things done.
-has had a productive day thus far.
-just learned (the hard way) that fingers and a straightener turned on to 450 degrees are not a very good combination. That's one way to get your day going!
-is happy and content.
-is sad Cam's baseball game was called.
-is hopeful that the evening will be good time spent with the family.
-is thanking Jason for taking the kids out of this house for a moment. Silence is so wondeful; I love it! Why does rain make children's energy level rise and mine plummet?
-is watching the kids make forts out of pillows, blankets and anything else able to withstand bouncing children. Baseball tournament schedule pushed back today and we're tying to keep the children entertained until then. We could totally use some outside time.
-is finally heading out to Cameron's baseball tournament in McKinney. Go Seminoles!!
-had a perfect day - family time this morning and baseball tournament this afternoon. Looking forward to tomorrow with MORE baseball. I love weekends filled with friends and family.
- RISE AND SHINE! We're heading out for more baseball. Go Seminoles!
-is just now getting home from this weekend's tournament. That's 14 hours of baseball JUST on Sunday. Wow! But they did good, we made it to the last game but the boys were just worn out.
-is heading to bed (after my snack of course). Going to read a bit longer and enjoy this timeless moment of silence. I truly think I've found a piece of heaven tonight.
-is headed to work today. Gumbo for dinner and baseball tonight. I need to blog sometime today too =)
-needs to figure out FB for phones....
-likes FB on my phone! and mobile email too.
-is thankful it's Friday. Ready to see my baby more (long week at work for him), to be home with my fam and for next weeks schedule to be empty. Now if I could get my kids to stop arguing - it's only breakfast time!
-loves her honey!
-is getting ready to go out with my hubby. Thanks B for fixing my bra! See u soon Lyndie, happy birthdy!!
-enjoyed our night out. Im ready for bed. And more importantly sleep!
-is at my brothers baseball game.
-is getting ready to have dinner with good friends!
-had an enjoyable evening with great friends. Im taking this Sunday and doing nothing.
-is already loving this week with few activities. I hope the rain returns while it's time for bed, so long as it leaves my electricity on.
-is going to have to put this book down. It's putting me to tears! Cassey, why did you have to pick such a heart-wrenching book? It is a good read though, just slowly to take it all in and digest.
-just finished my book. It's called "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers if anyone needs a good book to read. LOVED IT!
-wonders why Courtnie left chocolate milk in the car from Saturday morning. And worse, why did Colton feel the need to drink it? This cant be good.
-is completey wasting my time on FB while Jason tortures me with sports tonight.
-my true age test just told me I was 15 years old. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. Wonder what Jason's thoughts on this are??
-might have some patience this afternoon since Colton stayed with his Aunt B. I love her, she is the greatest Aunt ever!!
-is heading to Peppermint Boutique for cloth training diapers. My goal this year was to potty train Colton at night and I'm keeping my fingers crossed this will be beneficial. If not, it will sure be cheaper in the end.
-is getting beat by a 4 year old in the slug bug game. He beat Aunt B yesterday!
-is excited about her cloth diapers! I totally have baby fever and it's BAD friends! It's a mixed blessing for both of us to be fixed or there would be another little Gautreaux on the way. So here's to getting my youngest fully potty-trained at night.
May:
-is exhausted from playing referee through two rounds already this morning. One of these kids --is gonna have to cut me some slack. And why couldn't their father be here on this fine morning? I know he's working but #@$%.
-is sad our baseball tournament was cancelled due to the rain. However, we do still have plans to spend the weekend in Mansfield for a dance competition. Shake it Courtnie!!
- Yay! Colton woke up dry!!!
-is leaving church and racing home to see if our house is flooded. Woodhaven is getting a call to fix the drainage in our backyard!
-is so thankful for blessings, big and small. Backyard is one big stream but nowhere near the backdoor. Whew!
-believes 5am is too early to start your day. But Courtnie sure is excited to dance again this morning.
-is the most tired and exhausted that I've been in a very, very long time. This weekend wiped me out. Kids are going to bed early and me too.
-needs one more night of good sleep and I'll be caught up from this weekend. *YAWN*
-feels so accomplished today, marking things off my to-do list. Now if I never have to see my 4 yr old grab my keys and try to start the car again, I'll be okay with that.
-is just blah. I need sunshine!!
-is so MAD at those caterpillars for eatting my lettuce! Now to make some homemade garlic caterpillar insecticide....
-is in love having 4 kiddos at home. I could totally master this! Too bad her Mommy will want her back tomorrow, maybe she'll change her mind and let me keep her!! And too bad I have to nab someone else's child to help with my baby fever =)
-wishes every mommy a Happy Mothers Day!
-doesn't feel too well, which means I didn't sleep good. And now I'm feeling tired, getting grouchy and my throat still hurts.
-wishes these horribly loud hellicopters that sound like they are going to land in my backyard would fly elsewhere.
-needs to get my day going - eat breakfast, clean something, get ready, make lunches, load of laundry and head out for playgroup. I need to blog today too!
-is getting ready for Cameron's 6th grade orientation meeting. I cannot believe this... no one asked me if I was ready to have a 6th grader!
-one of these days the heavens are going to open up and there will be just one morning of getting along and no arguing with what we'll wear to school that day. Just one day. That's all I ask.
-ive got it! im going to record it and blog it!!!
-successfully found matching clothes for pictures for FOUR kids... in one stop! Now to get everyone ready for a double header tonight.
-is already missing my family.... Jason and Cameron are camping and Courtnie & Colton are spending the night with Grandmum. I'm going to clean this house, and no one is here to tear it up after me so it's going to be clean for at least a couple of hours.
-is watching Tristan and Isolde with my sis who's staying the night to keep me company. Thanks B.
-is now watching chick flick #2 with B. Its bound to be better if it doesnt skip! (cough).
-is relaxing before picking up my favorite people from Colorado at the airport. If I could get the kids to be in a better mood, we'd all be happier.
-is almost to the airport. Colton is terrified about the 'airport' for some reason. Kinda funny!
-we have the fam! Abbott is a doll and of course Eric and Christy look good too! Somehow I have to convince them to either stay here for good or let me have Abbott.
-done grocery shopping, relaxing a bit then headed to the Rangers game with good friends. It's going to be a great day!
-leaving the Ranger game. Rangers sweept the Angels! Great game!!!
-just looked at my calendar and I have a few weeks ahead that should be far less stressful. Im definitely looking forward to summer break and having the kids home.
-NOTE TO SELF: Do not put flames near a hand towel, flames go up immediately. (And I didn't even grab the camera for a blog-worthy moment. To think, it could have been a good blog!)
-please pray for my sister today. She's having surgery today to remove a cyst that's growing quite quickly on her breast. I love her dearly!!.... I'm certain you're on your phone right now B. We love you and are praying for you. See you here very soon sister.
-Breanne is doing good. Thank you for your prayers!!
-wonders why my preteen has bad attitude, a lack of common sense, and no desire to be kind. Maybe his cell phone will become my property for awhile, that would be devestating to him!! And enjoyable for me.... Maybe.
-wonders what new adventures today holds. You never know with three Gautreaux kids.
-is very much in need of this three day weekend!! Looking forward to family get-togethers.
-is already missing my computer.....
-is watching movies with the family. What a perfect way to start a relaxing weekend.
-needs her youngest to sleep in some. Doesnt he realize if Im not happy, no one will be happy?! Out of bed to make breakfast....
-help fellow couponers! I cant get online to check my grocery game list. Call me if there are good deals or tell me to make a Target run.
-is spending the evening in good company with my family. We're outside playing and watching the storms roll in.
-is driving out of town to Forney.... ah, so far away....
-wishes Jason would quit making foul smells under the sheets. Ugh!
-wishes everyone a Happy Memorial Day!! Enjoy the day with family and friends.
-hopes todays swimming wears the fire out of my kids. Maybe they'll go to bed early!! Love holiday weekend!
-is helping my mom and sis with graduation invitations and party invites. I'm so glad I have plenty of years before I have to do this with my oldest. It's very bitter sweet.
-is so behind on EVERYTHING! Where is my double? I asked for one or two....
-Colton just grabbed his baseball glove, creeped toward us and whispered that he was going to go and catch the duck in our front yeard. The thought process of four year olds never ceases to amaze me.
-finds it humerous to wake up to a big, massive, ginormous pimple on your face. I love days like this!! Gotta go practice my hand signs for tomorrow big game. The moms are coaching!!!
-is totally stressing about what to wear as a baseball coach today. A girls gotta look good right? Maybe Cam will let me borrow his shoes. This is going to be a good day!!! 3 games today. GO SEMINOLES!
-I rocked as head coach today. Third base coach is hard work. I never had a clue that baseball coach was in my future... it could be a calling, I'll keep my eyes open to new possibilities!
-is looking back on this last year, these last few weeks and what's up ahead. So many blessings and still so many prayers.
June:
-wonders why smoke detector batteries always manage to go out in the middle of the night. I think it's really unfair for Jason to wake me up to help him locate the stubborn detector that beeps so loud that people in the next city over can hear it.
-should really try and do something productive today. Where do I even start?
-just watched my son graduate 5th grade. He won the Principals Academic Performance Award and the Outstanding Academic Excellence award. Yay! Im so proud of him!!!
-is discussing parenting with Jason. This is starting to get really hard. Tantrums are nothing compared to this (except Coltons, those wont beat anything).
-THANK YOU to all teachers for your guidance and patience this school year. I want to extend a special thanks to all teachers who have been involved in the learning process of my own children. Thank you for being their teacher and "mom" while they are away from home.
-would like to challenge all mothers - I bet my daughter talks more than yours!
-is at Rowlett's graduation. I cant wait to see Bee walk across the stage. YAY!!!
-is so sad Brittnee wont rub my foot. Its asleep!!! Shes just sitting here doing nothing. Cmon friend. Jason? Please?!
-is watching the kids swim at Travis' graduation party. Congrats Travis!!
-would like to know why others feel the need to take their grumpiness out on those around them? Serisouly, what did I do to you? Not a darn thing. You need to get happy in the same pants you got mad in. And leave me out of it.
-is at the Ranger game with the fam.
-is blogging.... Courtnie is with a friend for awhile and Cameron has friends over. Colton and I willingly left the living room where currently an indoor baseball game is taking place. Daddy is at the Rangers game again tonight so I'm buying time until he gets home.
-almost convinced Courtnie to wear shorts! I was so close, even had a blog started in my head. Thats my goal - one day this summer I will get a pair of shorts on my daughter.
-Courtnie has shorts on! I told her to pick whatever she wanted to wear and I guess she's taking my word that she looks super cute. (I told her that her booty looked cute!) Now I'm trying to figure out how to get all my stuff out the door and packed for the day.
-had a great time at the Zoo. No rain, no sun and just a slight breeze. Kids did good too! Pics soon =) Thanks Breanne, Nancy and Anna for joining us.
-other than doing a lot of driving this morning, I haven't really done anything else but I'm EXHAUSTED. Maybe it's from my kids bickering and/or wrestling and being rowdy for hours on end. When is bedtime tonight?
-just heard my last child (Courtnie) wake up for the day. Let the day begin!!!
-is getting ready for work tonight; gotta do my part and bring home those dollar dollar bills ya'll.
-is finally in bed after a late night working. Goodnight FB.
-is sorting through today's plans - Cameron has baseball practice and a birthday party, Courtnie -has a swim party for dance, and my brother has a baseball tournament. I need to get a gift, a snack for the party, and swing by the bank. Can we get it all done?
-has tackled Saturday - birthday party, swim party, errands and church. Looking forward to doing nothing tomorrow.
-is clocking out for Sunday. Here's to another week.
-slept in Colton's bed last night. He woke up coughing needing meds and a breathing treatment. Somehow he slept sideways and kept me awake, eventually kicking me out of my own bed. This could turn into a very long day.
-would like to rewind and start this Monday over. I'll also take a fast forward to this evening. Which ever is easier....
-is now addicted to Farm Town.....
-would like to know if it's wrong to hide your favorite desserts from your kids?? That Oreo Klondike bar was YUMMUY!
-had a GREAT day. Work was awesome (first day back for the summer), kids are being good, having dinner and swimming with my favorite mother-in-law, my Farm looks good. What more can a girl ask for? I know.... an Oreo Klondike bar when the kids go to bed.
-is sitting at the orthodontist office. This will be my last to-do today, everything else can wait until tomorrow. My errands list was very overwhelming, I had to do some elimination.
-is ready to chill with the fam for the weekend.
-is about to watch a couple of movies with my hunny. I love quality hubby time =)
-is riding in the back of the minivan with Jason and the kids while Breanne and Travis drive us to the birthday party. Its kinda nausiating back here. I think the first few minutes in the car convinced them they dont want this many kids.
-is being thoroughly entertained watching Jason and Breanne play hide and seek on Farm Town. B Coe - you are way smarter than this. Why are you falling for his crap?! lol
-wishes all dads, grandfathers, uncles and anyone else that plays a fatherly role in a child's life a Happy Fathers Day. A special thank you to my wonderful husband who is an incredible father to our children and an even more amazing husband. I love you JPG!
-today is my planned day to stay home; this house will be cleaned by this afternoon. All kids will be helping!
-is done cleaning. Not one, and I mean NOT ONE single complaint, moan or groan from any of the kids. We got down to work and stayed busy all morning long - cleaned basebaords, dusted everything, vacuumed the entire house, swept/mop, polished furniture.
-is sitting at the orthodontists office yet again. By the time we get three kids through braces years will have flown by and we'll know these people on a first name basis.
-is driving around with no gas and the light on and my wallet at home. This cant be good. Gotta make it home, grab my money, get gas and finish errands.
-Whew! Made it from Rockwall to home and rode to get gas with the windows down and AC off. But we made it there. That was pushing it for sure. I hope Jason doesnt read this!!
-just hit the car's emergency care kit for an insect sting relief pad. Cam was bit by something on his wrist and it's now swollen to about quarter-size.
-'s youngest son tried out his skills of being a thief today. It didn't work out too well, he did get caught and had to return the toy. Combine this with his knowledge of picking locks, I present to you my most rotten child. But he is so darn cute!
-is ready for bed - my farm is ready for tomorrow, having a nice drink, and all kids are gone for the night. Thank you Dad for taking the boys (I promise to pray for you) and Aunt Cathie and Uncle Jeff for having Courtnie over. What shall we do with all this alone time?
-is at Hawaiian Falls with the fam.
-is so excited for today. The whole family is going to Rainforest Cafe to celebrate Courtnie's 8th birthday!!
-is at the movies with the kids. We are watching Hannah Montana. It was only $.50! Happy Birthday to my sweet, sweet Courtnie who turns 8 today!!
-was just told 'you eyebrow hairs strong'. Thanks. Thats why Im paying you the big bucks. Better than hearing 'you eyebrows ugly' which is what I was told years ago when I got them waxed for the first time ever. Remind me AGAIN why I do this to myself!?
-just added 'plumber' and 'janitor' to my daily list of names. Gotta love a fou year old learning to do things on his own!
July:
-is already missing Cameron and he's only been gone a few minutes. How will I survive for 9 days without him???
-Courtnie has now left and will be gone the next 8 days. I already miss her and have been missing Cam all day. This will be a long break, but at least the kids have eachother.
-thanks for all the offers to take your kiddos, but I still have my 4 year old and he is quite the handful. Although he is staying with both grandmothers this weekend. What to do, what to do? This weekend will be pure bliss!
-just exited the highway and made it thru a random Dallas PD check-point. Ive never seen that done before! Happy 4th everyone!!
-Mom: "Colton PLEASE stop jumping on and off the couch." Colton [with hands on hips]: "Do you know WHY I have to jump off the couch?" Mom: "Why Colt?" Colton: "Because I need to be like Superman." And off he runs towards my couch for yet more adventure.
-YAY! My kids are home!!! And I'm off to work tonight. See some of you there.
-is off to the Roughriders game. Should be nice since we will be in a suite with all you can eat and drink. Fun times!!
-watching the kids skate. Fun!!
-is already laughing and we havent even left the house. The coaches have to wear baseball pants for this round of the tournament and this is hillarious! There will definitley be pictures snapped and a blog to commemorate this moment.
-plan's for today: swimming, ice cream, swim lessons, VBS, whirlyball tonight. Somewhere in there we need to eat a few meals and maybe sweep the kitchen. PS - Finished "My Sisters Keeper". Wow! A very good read.
-was talking to Colton about why we don't litter and he asks, "Well.... can we throw our buggers out the window? Is that littering?" I must admit, I busted out laughing =)
-just doesn't have it together. It's like a seasonal illness - forgetfulness, easily distracted, no concept of time, insomnia, and no time. No time for self, to eat, to sit, to think, to sleep, to breathe. Ah... but I love summers!!
-is at another baseball game. Lets go Seminoles! I want to be out here again tomorrow night. (Really I do!)
-WE WON! Game tomorrow night. We can do this Seminoles!!
Game 4 - Let's go Seminoles!! We can do this, we can move ahead to game 5 and 6.
-Seminoles took home 3rd place last night. The boys still have one more game left - Seminoles vs. The Dads. Should be fun! Got my Farm Town just as I want it and am now enjoying the silence in the house. it only lasts for a small moment!
-today's Courtnie Inspirations - ''Are the clouds comfortable all in a row like that?'', ''If you have 2 pepperonis and you want 4... just cut them in half!'', and ''I know Mom and Dad are the toothfairy. There's no such things as fairys.''
-is up early to get some housework accomplished before the kids get up. Taking the kids bowling and swimming today, should be fun!
-we found baby bunnies today, no lie they are the size of my index finger. Took them to the Vet and they're dehydrated and told us it was good we took them. They were in the middle of the playground and had burried themselves somewhat in the mulch.
-is happy to report all 4 bunnies are doing well and now pooping like crazy! Waiting for the kids to wake up so we can feed them - feeding the bunnies with an eyedropper takes quite some time. Then need to get the older two ready for Six Flags with their
-what a day!! Never again do I want a repeat of today's events. No joke.
-is going to bed. I feel like I was beat-up today. Oh wait! I was!!! By a 4 year old. The joys of working with preschoolers. They are all Gods children... They are all Gods children... They are all Gods children...
-is ready for a new day. Getting up and ready to take the kids to the Dallas Museum of Art and swimming. Bunnies are still doing well. Their box had to stay in the bathrub last night in case one of them finally made it out. They managed to stay in the box this time.
-I predict we will get kicked out of the Dallas Museum of Art VERY VERY soon. No touching, no flash on the camera, walk on your toes, no breathing.... These employees are literally following us around this place.
-has had a good day overall, in it's own quirky way!
-is having dinner cooked for us tonight while packing and getting ready for our mini vacation to Louisianna. Jason, Dad and I are going to the Boats for awhile tomorrow, I've never been before! Already missing my bunnies though =(
-is officially on the road headed to Louisianna. Let the fun begin!
-I let Jason listen to my iPod and he hasnt mentione returning it but I'm have withdrawals. Can't a girl get her tunes back? Do I get a brownie for sharing??
-says, ''Hello Bossier City!''
-is visiting with my grandparents. The kids are riding fourwheelers, playing cowboy golf, blowing bubbles, throwing a baseball and just enjoy the outdoors and family time.
-is headed to the Alligator Museum further south in Louisianna. Hope we can keep stay ahead of the rain for a bit longer.
-needs to get out of bed and make breakfast, get some cleaning done and finish laundry before taking this kids to Chuck-e-Cheese for lunch with friends. I got this!
-has just spent the last 45 minutes finding and hunting down two bunnies that felt the need to escape. The living room is torn apart trying to get the one bunnie who can dart across a living room in .5 seconds. I am tired, our of breath and my heart is beating like crazy.
-is enjoying a somewhat quiet evening. Dinner has been served, kids are bathed, just need to catch-up on my blog and add my pics to my online album. I'm shooting for an early bedtime tonight.
-'s kids are officially climbing the walls. We haven't been this cooped-up since Winter. They NEED to get out of this house.
-is missing my boys from there day-long, guided fishing trip and Courtnie who is at my moms. Just Colton and me. Here's to a lazy Friday night!
-finds it quite disturbing that Walgreens now sells lingerie. Now that's class!
August:
-is headed to church. Had fun making my own hot sauce today - preserved 7 jars. We're preserving pickles on Tuesday. Fun!!
-is leaving church and talking about salvation with the family. Cameron told us he accepted Christ in his life and would like to be baptized. How awesome is that?!?!
-is hanging out at Moms today.
-would like to give you a sneak peak of my day - Colton crying because it's morning, Colton crying because he doesn't want to get dressed, crying as he throws his clothes in my direction, crying because he doesn't want to wear what HE picked out, crying because life is so hard.
-is having dessert - 2 cookies? Or finish off the bag and eat all 4?
-asked Colton when he woke up: "How did you sleep?" His response: "I sleeped good. Jesus was in my heart. And Jesus tells me he wants me to eat breakfast. Can you get me some breakfast cause Jesus said so?"
-is definitely not made for lawn work. I havent even finished the front yard and this is my second break inside to keep from passing out. My body and heart are not made for manual labor. I can literally feel my heart throbbing from my toes to the top of my head, and it isnt even all that hot outside. I was trying to do something nice for the hubby!
-is off to work for my last day of summer, it's bitter sweet really. But I am looking forward to the weekend. You never know what life will bring =)
-is sooo excited it's the weekend. Cameron is staying with his Grandmum and Courtnie and Colton invited themselves to stay with my Dad. Man I LOVE grandparents =)
-isn't sure when the kids are coming home - Cameron made more plans with Grandmum and Courtnie and Colton begged to go swimming. What do we do with the extra time???
-is home from church. We officially joined Lake Pointe tonight and Cameron and Jason will both be baptized on Saturday, August 22nd if you would like to join us. That's Cameron's 11th birthday so maybe dinner afterwards to celebrate both occasions???
-is at the movie theater with the kids. Can't beat $.50 to see a movie!
-wonders if anyone else has ever had so much to do, you don't have a clue where to start?! That's how today is except I know I have to go in to work first, after that I don't know which stop to make first. Guess I'll go where my heart desires at the time. Happy Tuesday everyone!
-is splurging and getting a pedicure with my sister before our vacation. Fun times!!
-is a little upset, okay quite a bit - Kroger is doubling their coupons on Saturday only. And of course we are out of town! How will I function knowing I am missing out on a deal like this - doubling $1 Qs.... so sad =(
-the smell of boys who've been playing outside..... gag!
-is packing and getting ready to head out early tomorrow morning for San Antonio. Please pray my kids behave on this trip (because they certainly were not on our last trip).
-is having fun already - gum in my hair and a little Chinese fire drill. Good times! Almost at the Natural Cavern Museum.
-just left Coyote Ugly. I had a Wusskey!!
-is officially done stalking the Dallas Cowboy players since they are now in for curfew. Cameron got 4 pictures though!!
-is watching a Pirate Show at Sea World, aka in the parental world - taking a break!
-has had dinner and is now waiting to see Shamu. I am so very thanful for seats and a moment to sit down.
-just witnessed a miracle. A car in front of us jerked the wheel and started spinning on the highway. We swerved back and forth to miss him. The car ended up backwards parallel to the median, hitting no one. We're shaken up but feel very blessed. It's definitely one way to end your day! Thank you Lord for all your blessings.
-is headed to the Riverwalk for dinner and a cruise. We did tackle another day of Sea World this morning.
-is headed to the Alamo, the Market, lunch and then home. This has been a very nice vacation. A perfect way to end the summer.
-is still on the road home and playing 'Would You Rather?' with Jason.
-is in my own bed.... ah! And boy do I love good water pressure. It's good to be home.
-today has to be my Monday with a to-do list a couple miles long. I really should get out of bed and get started. Hmmm...
-sent Cameron off to his first youth group gathering. When did he get old enough for this? My bedtime is 9pm, guess I'll have to adjust my inner clock to keep up with my pre-teen.
-is headed to dance camp....
-sent Cameron off to youth group again tonight. He had a blast last night and talked non-stop about all they did and was excited to go back tonight.
-today's chaffeur schedule: dance camp, lunch date, Verizon store, Target, youth group, meet-the-teacher. Maybe I'll get a hefty tip!
-is excited for the new school year to begin. My kids are looking forward to the new changes too! Colton and I wont know when to do with ourselves.
-is finishing school shopping with Grandmum. We even bought a new fish!!
-is excited about Cameron's baptism tomorrow. Anybody coming? And joining us for dinner afterwards? It's also Cameron's 11th birthday!!
-is excited - Cameron and Jason are getting baptized tonight!! We are at the church already.
-is leaving church and headed to celebrate Cameron's 11th birthday. Colton is telling us what he learned at church - the story of Jonah and the whale. He has never repeated a story from the Bible. Another blessing!
-would like to share what I love about back to school - bedtimes!!
-is staying home to get some things done around the house. Colton's smiling face is sure to keep my spirits up. I NEED to be around happy people!
-just walked out of the bathroom with my facial/cleaning mask on and told Cameron it was time to go. He stood there and stared at me, very slowly shook his head and said very quietly, "no". LOL, I should do more embarrassing things to these kids!
-is really feeling God's blessing and presence as we meet new friends and further get to know them better. I need/want to be surrounded by positive, Christ-like people.
-picked up the night shift and is now waiting for these kids to get out of youth. Wait... they're done, Im just waiting for them to finish socializing!!
-is taking Colton to his first-ever soccer practice!
-is having the older two kids clean their bathroom and they are both in their singing "It's a hard knock life". Gotta love 'em!
-wishes to tell the world that "nobody's perfect" and "everyone sins" are not excuses for poor judgement. Accidents happen and mistakes are made when things are done with the best of intentions. When you choose to screw-up that's a blantant sin and nothing more. You only get one shot at today, make it a good one!
-is just blah... that's okay, right?
September:
-is calling it a night.
-sees the light....
-is at Coltons second night of soccer and he is definitely not feeling it tonight. Hes very much an observer and a leech on his Daddys legs. He still stinkin cute out there though!!
-is really enjoying the quiet right now and looking forward to the weekend.
-really enjoyed tonights sermon on forgiveness. Dinner after was yummy too! Headed to get a few movies for a night with the family.
-feels like I robbed Kroger this morning. Lots of free stuff this week!
-loves Labor Day! I'm relaxing, celebrating the labor that's already been done, thus doing nothing today =)
-is listening to Jason try to teach Cameron how to dance with girls. Cameron isnt having it and Jason is getting frustrated with Camerons lack of enthusiasm. Jason is trying to tell him that girls like guys who dance and "doesnt he want all the ladies to want him?" Really babe? Must we talk like this?
-is grilling pork chops, sausage and corn while baking sweet potato fries and cooking peas and carrots. Yum-o!!
-whatever happened to prizes in cereal boxes?
-is up early and getting ready for a Buddist wedding. This should be interesting - no dark colors and sitting on the floor. Still not understanding why Jason can touch things and I can't! Not very fair really.
-is about to head out for church. My mouth will be shut and my eyes and ears open to the message. Hoping for another good blog tonight!
-if Aunt B had a papoose, my sweet Courtnie would climb on in for life. She is seriously attached to her aunt.
-has just broken a second glass item today, bummer!
-would like to know what's for dinner. Any suggestions?
-has made a decision about dinner - shepherds pie, corn on the cob and fresh green beans. Now to make another decision - is my oldest really sick or not? His throat has been hurting since this morning and his face is very contorted looking and he is being very lethargic. Umm.... any advice moms? or dads?
-could really use some sunshine! I like rain but a break with the sun is good too. Cameron is still sick and we go to the doctor tomorrow. Other two are healthy as can be.
-two day wait to get an appointment = frustrating. two-plus hour wait to see the doctor = infuriating. Strep diagnosis = relieving. Lunch in my belly = nourishing.
-is at a friends house grilling out. Nice weather but the allergies are starting to get to me.
-busy day today. Need to get out of this bed so I can go pick up my niece. Oh how I love to have little ones around!!
-is about to bring out the 'mean mommy'. I'm tired of the bickering, the rudeness, the selfishness, the dirty looks and the laziness. Where did my sweet children go? And I need advice -do you think its okay to ground your children from youth group?
-would like to ask Cameron.... WHY?!?! This kid is driving me crazy! For someone to be so intelligent he sure doesnt use his brain very often. It's almost like it only works at school, never at home. And where did the moodiness come from? I want my always happy, easy-going, loving-life kid back!!
-loves the Fall weather but still waiting for the 'cold' to kill off the allergens. Aside from a small case of strep and allergies making my ears itch, we are still healthy! Praise be!!
-Dear Cameron: I'm sorry I'm sick and this has hindered your ability to be driven to/from your social gathering tonight. Your social life is not high on my list of priorities, not quite like breathing, being able to smell, living without snot everywhere and being free of itching. I'm sorry I've ruined your life. You'll survive one night at home with your parents. Until then, please leave me alone.
-what does one do with little to no voice? I'm feeling better though; I can breathe! I am just not a fan of allergy season.
-has no idea what happened to her computer. The internet was flickering so I rebooted it while checking out the wireless box. It was unplugged and I came back to the computer completely shut down and not recognizing anything. At least I have my phone!!
-is very excited!! Jason planned our anniversary gift 6 months ago for this Tuesday night and has held this surprise the whole time. He just slipped and told me what we're doing - Metallica concert!!! I'm really excited!
-LOVES Sundays!!!
-has my computer back, although temporary. It's been given a temp fix until the parts come in. The hardrive went out and will likely go out again soon. I'm hoping it will hold out for me!
-just totaled my Walgreens bill - final amount was 108.52 and I paid 20.15. Nice! Lots of good freebies this week.
-should listen to her instincts more often!
-won in both of my Fantasy Football leagues! And to think I didn't even check my teams since our computer was out. Off to start a busy day and METALLICA CONCERT TONIGHT!!
-needs help - what does one wear to a Metallica concert?
-is trying to convince Jason to take me to get my nose pierced before the concert. He isn't buying it people!!
-has received the best gift EVER!!!! No worries Mom and Dad, Raggedy Ann and Andy are a real close second. I totally fit in with this crowd and am loving it!
-is really, really tired. I'll be moving on very little sleep today! Be looking for a blog about last night =)
-is fading very quickly. Few hours of sleep at night makes for a very long day. But I'm not crying or yelling, things are still good thus far.
October:
-loves Fridays! I love working, love looking forward to coming home and doing nothing, and love the weekend.
-watching movies with my honey! I love him!!
-is headed out to celebrate a dear friends 30th birthday. So glad it's her first and not me! Happy Birthday girlfriend!!
-loves Sundays too. GO BRONCOS!!!
-just ate Wingstop and has kicked back to watch the game in peace. Ah!
-is asking all you cowgirl fans.... how'd you like that? Looks like Denver came out on top! Great game fans!!
-had a fun day! I have so much Christmas shopping done already, love that!
-needs to find what expired in the pantry/cabinet. Homemade Chicken and Dumplings flopped. Bad. No amount of salt and pepper was going to make that edible.
-is looking up, it will be a good day. I have 4 teachers out and 2 subs. We've got this! It's all gonna work out just fine. (Can you just say a prayer for me though, just in case.)
-is very tired. Thank you Restless Leg Syndrome for keeping me up half the night. Sorry Babe for keeping you up as well.
-is having her hair straightened by my sister. I hope she doesnt burn my ear or back. I have faith, I have faith...
-is tired of Breanne telling me to stuff my bra. Can't a girl flaunt her A's?
-can finally enjoy the weekend!
-really doesnt want to get up yet. I think its cruel that Jason just flipped on the lights, turned off the fans and has started singing 'Rise and Shine'. I just need a few more hours of sleep.
-is watching Saturday Night Fever. Thank you Amy for introducing me to this movie. Remember the story behind that?
-<3 Sundays!
-is so glad Denver won, they beat New England! Yay! A happy husband makes for a WONDERFUL evening =)
-good morning FB friends!
-is getting off here to make cookies with Colton and maybe clean something. We'll see...
-can't we go just one day without one of these kids having a bi-polar moment?! Really now! I think PMS starts early in girls and boys are just born moody. My excuse (for those of you wondering) is the kids, they make me crazy with their mood swings!
-is finally home. Courtnie's dance team had a great night at Joe Willy's. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported her!
-is really, really tired. I'm definitely taking a shower after dinner, getting into my pj's and crawling in bed. Everyone else is on their own!
-needs some honest answers from those who KNOW me - am I high maintenance?
-has nothing intelligent or humorous to say (yet) this morning. Have a good day FB friends!!
-is sitting here crying my eyes out. I have no idea why!
-loves the feel of a sleeping baby in my arms and the pitter patter sound of a toddlers' feet. Thank you cuz for letting me be a part of this precious baby girls life.
-is getting Courtnie ready for her and Dampa's date to the Miley Cyrus concert tonight. Thank you Dad for making a dream come true for my sweet little girl. We all appreciate the memories she will cherish forever.
-can finally go to bed. Courtnie had a great night! Does it ever get easier to stay awake waiting for your kids to return home? I like my sleep.
-is going to grab some Oreos and milk and do some leisure reading. Fun!
-is in the carpool line waiting to pick up Courtnie. Colton has the iPod in his ears listening to Metallica keeping the beat with his feet. Too cute!
-has had a great day so far, aside from the moment my dear friend Anna mortified me! Hope we were helpful today and thanks for having us over. Could it be that we need to get ready for baseball tonight? Yippee!
-is looking forward to some girl time tomorrow.
-has kicked my feet up waiting for dinner to finish cooking and my hubby to come home from work. We're having cracked peppercorn pork tenderloin, roasted garlic potatoes and steamed carrots. Yum!
-takes alot of abuse from the lovely people I work with. What a day!! Good thing I don't get offended easily. Sheesh.
-is taking a nap - please do not send any texts or call me. I really need a nap if I'm going to have to be up to pick Cameron up from a Halloween Party.
-is leaving church after a very good message. Headed to drop Cam off to yet another Halloween party. I need dinner!!
-needs prayers. Jason has quit smoking, which I am very proud of. But with this comes some mood swings and this is where we both need prayers. Thank you friends!
-laundry Mondays. What could be better?
-is driving Courtnie to dance and while she reads Im listening to my iPod wondering why my left speaker isnt working. I find the problem - it has a piece that appears to have been chewed. Colton was the last to use them and since he's always hungryJ it must be him! That boy even had a snack with him which he refused to eat. Grrr!
-is doing some thinking... Isn't it cruel that I'm laying here next to my hubby all warm and cozy and my kids are alone in their beds having to find their own warmth? How sad! Kinda makes me want to get them and bring them to bed with me but I had to sleep by myself as a child and I turned out just fine.
-is kicking the kids outside since the weather is nice. They aren't moving too quickly and I'm wanting them out as fast as possible. Who wears the pants in this family anyway?
-is excited to see my hubby, he's on his way home now. Happy Anniversary Babe!
-wishes Jason would share the laptop. I'm starting to have withdrawals.
-is tired and needs a nap. When is it my turn?
-'s son made boobs at school today. Yay Colton! Thanks for embarrassing me today. Will this be an ongoing thing while at school? (pic to come)
-wishes all my FB friends a HAPPY HALLOWEEN! The day has been wonderful. Went to Kroger -my bill was $151 and I paid $44, that's 69% savings. Went to Walgreens - four 12pk Dr. Peppers for $1.08. Yay!! Now to get ready for tonight's events.
-is headed to Firewheel Mall for some trick-or-treating. Fun!!
November:
-is very excited. Colton mastered The Quiet Game. How awesome is that! I need to find some good prizes and encourage them to play this more often.
-is ready for this week. I love daylight savings!!
-was just rescued after being stuck in the mud. Thank you Mr. Horton, you saved me from having to call my husband! Dance Dads ROCK!
-had a lovely day! My eyes were opened to something I've been searching for, playdate at a park with a dear friend, dinner and great family time tonight. Loving this week!!
-had a busy, busy day at work! Now to relax driving around for carpool times and baseball tonight.
-is very grossed out by the dead mouse on our back porch. Yuck! Jason has some cleaning to do when he gets home. I dont do bugs, animals, insects or any other kind of critters - dead or alive. My children however are very enthralled at the moment.
-needs someone to tell me it's bedtime. My youngest is crying non-stop (no obvious reason), my daughter won't STOP TALKING, and the oldest just thinks it's all funny and comments on his mother's spinning head while encouraging the other two to continue torturing me. Please tell them all to get quiet, shower and get in bed. Momma needs a timeout!
-is sitting at Winston Science waiting for the boys to present their egg car. We might be here awhile!
-has had a nice, relaxing Sunday!
-has nothing humorous to say. I woke up for another day, that's today's blessing!
-is headed to dance. Prayerfully I won't get stuck in the mud tonight!
-really wants Denver to win! A winning game makes for a very happy husband. Lets go BRONCOS!
-is joining my friend in her attempt to remind herself daily of her blessings. From now until Thanksgiving I will post a blessing provided to our family. Today - I'm thankful for the good health our family has had this year (and especially this season!).
-is blessed to have a job that I LOVE and blessed that Jason's company is doing well during this time of economic crisis. We are both able to continue to provide for our family during these trying times. We may not be able to have the "extras" but our bills are paid, food is on the table and we have a roof over our heads. It's the simple things that matter in the end.
-is wondering what 'ive thrown my back out' really means....
-has officially done something to my back. Jason is home while I stay motionless on the couch. It feels like Im giving birth to yet another boy who thinks posterior side up is the way to enter the world. The worst pain Ive ever felt! Id rather someone shoot me than to be reminded of that kind of birth or pain.
-is thankful for the strong family bond we have. It doesn't matter what's going on (the good, the bad, or the ugly) my family is there, all 50+ of them. This has taught me about friendship as well. True friends are like extended members of my family. I am blessed to have them all, to celebrate each holiday with them and all of life's events. I love you all =)
-is stressing about dinner. Jason isnt an experienced cook, dinner is making him stress and I dont like ghetto cheese or microwaved meals. Ack! Wheres my maid-servant?
-wonders why it is you "feel" you are doing something right and it comes back to bite you in the butt and costs you sooooo much in the long run? I HATE customer service and those who work in this department and do not do their job to the fullest.
-is thankful for forgiveness. This is one of the best gifts EVER!
-gets home just after lunch to see the kids gone to visit Grandmum and Jason waiting for me to get home so we can have date day/night. We went to see a movie, grabbed something to eat and rented two more movies to watch at home. It's so quiet here! Maybe I can talk Jason into some ice cream later. I love nights at home with my hubby =)
-is thankful for quiet moments with my husband. They are so few these days and when we have them, there is so much to be thankful for. My husband is a blessing - I love you Jason!
-is thankful to be a stay-at-home mom. No matter how difficult or mundane the day's work is, I'm grateful to have spent it with my children. Today's chores are complete - washed/dried and put away four loads of laundry, washed/dried and put linens back on all four beds, vacuumed the entire house, cleaned master bathroom and bedroom, cleaned kitchen. No I'm off to love on my baby!
-trip to Target buying 5 pkgs baby wipes, 4 pkgs Rolaids, 3 travel size Tide, 4 GE Energy Saving light bulbs, 1 box Kleenex, 1 pkg Cars pencils for a stocking, 1 pkg goldfish to keep youngest quiet, spent $2.07. Expression on the cashier's face and to hear her say "Wow!" - priceless!
-is thankful for even the smallest blessings. Little blessings come along in life. Sometimes we see them immediately and there are even times it takes us awhile to realize the impact they have on our lives. Blessings are a wonderful gift from God - big or small, I'm thankful for them all.
-needs honest opinions. My younger two have yet to learn NOT TO OPEN THE DOOR TO STRANGERS. Im in the shower this evening and Courtnie happily comes to tell me someone is at the door. They both usually open the door and greet these said strangers but tonight they just went to the window. Im thinking of having a neighbor come by to see what they do and even have them come outside to show them something. Your thoughts?
-is not feeling today.....
-is thankful for words of encouragment, I definitely needed them today. I'm gradually getting out of my dumpy mood, even though now it's night. I needed to focused more on my blessings rather than my 'problems'.
-is thankful that I can wear Camerons clothes and shoes. Its so nice to share!!
-is thankful for laughter. It truly is the best medicine!
-Has sent her computer away to be fixed. Poor baby! We had a long talk before we parted ways about being cooperative towards necessary repairs. With this said, if it cant be done on our phones, we cannot get online for a few days. I already miss you beloved Gautreaux computer!!!
-is at the end of the movie 'Orphan'. I will never be able to convince Jason to adopt or foster now! Why does he torture me with scary movies???
-UPDATE: We finished watching Jason's scary movie and now he won't watch my movie "because it's sad!" Everyone leave Jason a message on his wall and tell him how he can better serve his wife. I'll start with a backrub - it's my movie or backrub, he chose already!
-just finished watching My Sisters Keeper. Definitely a buyer! Loved the movie and the book even better. (And Jason watched it with me!)
-missed yesterday's thankful post - I am thankful to be able to "give". It is so much fun! And even more fun to silently give unexpectedly.
-is thankful for grandparents. I truly am thankful for all you guys do - taking the kids for the evening, helping with the extras, loving on them, and acting as a loving parent when Jason and I are away. Our lives would be very different without you! You are more of a blessing than you may ever realize and we are forever grateful. We love you all.
-is feeling nap-thirty. Think I'm gonna go act on that lovely feeling....
-is having really bad luck with my internet service now, on top of my laptop hard drive going out. The adapter IN MY SONS ROOM was melting! Another blessing we caught that before my house went up in flames.
-is thankful for a wonderful Aunt my children have been blessed with. Aunt B ROCKS! My kiddos adore her, sometimes more than me which I think is awesome.
-is thankful for teachers. Some of you have spent time with more than one of my children, some of you know them in passing. Thank you for all you do! Every day you devote your time and love to them and there are even days you spend more hours with them than I do. Thank you! Enjoy your break and know how much you are appreciated.
-is VERY excited! Our internet is back up and running but still no resolve with Verizon. They are totally not taking me seriously. Still not heard from a Supervisor and no credit for these days without internet and cable.
-is thankful for traditions. I love this time of year - it brings families together and laughter to the table.
-just might be the worst mom ever! My older two are in their rooms until lunchtime (at least) writing a paper about why they love their siblings and how they can be more kind to eachother. One of these days they will learn to like eachother, this is my prayer. In the meantime, I have no idea how to get them to appreciate eachother and treat eachother with respect. Any tips?
-is anyone else eating less today to make room for tomorrow's food?
-wishes all my FB family and friends a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Enjoy your feasts!!
-has alot on my mind - I just finished the book "Time Travelers Wife", not sure if I liked it but I do want to see the movie. I don't like the phrase "yada yada yada"! I do love when the kids are outside playing!!
-is headed to Santaland!
-needs to get up and moving - I've got to get ready for a wedding, stop by the store for the things I am supposed to bring for our last family Thanksgiving feast and start the drive for the wedding in East Texas.
-is headed back to Moms for our last Thanksgiving feast of the year. Another moment with the family to look back on the years events and count our blessings.
-is getting too old for injuries. Tried to run out of bed yesterday morning to beat Jason at telling a joke and fell and twisted my ankle. And now here I sit unable to walk normally. I need to change something in my diet - add exercise and calcium and subtract running out of bed.
-has so much to do and nothing seems to be falling into place.... hmmm. Maybe I'm not supposed to do them yet!
-is sitting at dance bored. I forgot my bag of things to keep me entertained for 2 hours. Looks like FB is my only entertainment for awhile!
-has a goal to meet and it's do or die. I'm getting serious about exercising! The clock is ticking...
December:
-is in the middle of the nastiest, most horrendous, utterly disgusting parenting chore ever - unclogging a POOPY toilet. I've taken a break to get some fresh air of unharmful fumes. I'm praying that it dissolves waterever has been flushed so that I can unplunge it and shower again. Not my idea of of spending an evening alone while the boys are at basketball and the younger two are watching TV.
-is OFF THE MOM CLOCK after 1 hour and 45 minutes of toilet unclogging. I am showered (again), a full load of towels are in the washer and I'm about to grab a glass of wine and some chocolate. This event might constitute as my exercise tonight. G'night friends.
-do you ever just want to go to sleep and start the week over? I'd be okay with that right now. Having a hard time shaking the frustrations of life off.
-is off the computer until this afternoon. So much to do, starting with a trip downtown to the Farmers Market. It's gonna be so cold! Have a great day FB friends =)
-wonders if work will be super chaotic busy like Wednesday was, I'm think YES! I still <3 my job!
-is getting a traffic ticket in Rowlett. Did you know that if there is construction on the opposite side of the road, that you are supposed to go slower on your side of the road? So I didnt. Now Im getting a ticket for going the normal speed limit, along with the rest of the traffic. Yay me! It just adds more humor to the week.
-is childless - Colton is spending one on one time with his Nanie and the other two managed to weasle their way to dinner with my Dad. Jason wants me to join him in picking something up for dinner and renting a movie and I just want to stay home where it's warm and have him serve me. Is that too much to ask?
-is ready for a new week. This last week has gone down in my life history as one of the worst weeks ever!
-is so excited to have made it to a NEW MONDAY! Yay!
should really be doing crunches with Courtnies dance team right now.
-made it to Tuesday stress-free! YAY!
-is so happy Wednesday has been kind to me, hallelujah!
thinks its way too cold! And I have too many errands to run today to be shivering cold like this.
-has had a wonderful week, so much different than things have been. Thank you for answered prayers! I also learned something new - when Satan comes knocking on your door, ask Jesus to answer it for you!
-is counting her blessings while praying for others.
-has had a long day - Cam's basketball game was awesome (GO SUNS!), we got to see good friends at a bday party (HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIDER!), yummy lunch and fun shopping (THANKS GRANDMUM), great church service.... All that and nothing witty to say.
-wonders if I'm the only person who has yet to be inspiried to get out my running shoes and participate in a marathon? I really should.
-is making candy with her AMAZING sister and mom today! :)
-is so over the kids and their nighttime issues. I do not have a newborn and have no desire to waking up in the middle of the night to precious voices calling my name. I'm sorry you've lost dog, sorry you cant sleep, sorry your eyes wont close, sorry you feel the need to bang on your wall and scream to get my attention. Mom wants sleep! Mom wants you to get sleep! Leave Dad alone, he's a sucker for midnight tears.
-has started off a new week on the right foot. Happy Monday FB friends!!
-just sent my kids outside and told them not to come back in. They took off! Loving this beautiful weather!!
-is watching the kids find hidden treasures under the kitchen stove - magnets, the long lost Leap Frog letter "C", and Colton's bane bane (aka paci). What I would have given to have found that paci when it was needed most.
-needs to let everyone know now, the Gautreaux Family is not sending out Christmas cards this year, time is not something I have extra of this year. I guess I do need to start working on my Top 10 Gautreaux Facts of 2009. I'll add that to my to-do list and get it posted soon.
-needs nap-thirty, where are you today?
-says I couldn't ask for better friends. I could ask for normal friends, but where's the fun in that?!
-is ready to start banging her head on the wall to the beat of her headache.
-believes I'd be really skinny if I had to pedal to keep the computer on!
-wants to know - if I had a warning label, what would it say?
-has no more long hair! It's cut above my shoulders and I have bangs. I'm loving it!
-has a busy day! Our preschool has their Christmas program, end of year bookkeeping, and tons of other things at work today. We've got this ladies!
-is at a Christmas party cheering for the Saints!
-is starting to sweat this bet Jason made against Dallas. Looks like I'm being made to cheer for the wrong team. Grrr Jason!
-has finished Christmas shopping, grocery stores are slacking on their sales... what's a girl to do? Guess I'll stay in my pjs all day and lounge!
-really wants to blog but I've got to start getting my house cleaned and in order for tonight's Christmas party for work. I'm very excited!! So much to do, and so very little time.
-has the house clean. Now to tackle those random to-do items on that list. I guess I need to bake those cookies too. And shop! Eek!
-had a GREAT time tonight. I work with the best ladies (and Ryan too)! Merry Christmas to my co-workers and thank you for coming over tonight for dinner and fun. We definitely should do this more often.
-wonders why the big guy in the funny red suit gets all the credit, when I do all the shopping, all the wrapping and pay for everything!
-wonders if anyone else stops the microwave before it hits 0:00 just so you don't have to hear it beep?
-wants everyone to know.... what happens under the mistletoe, stays under the mistletoe!
-is not amused by change. I know, big shocker for anyone who knows me well. But I must learn to accept the things I cannot change....

MIA Mommy
But really, if the truth must be made known, none of that happened. We simply just did much of nothing, which sadly included blogging. We gave thanks for all of our blessings, we spent time with family, we ate until we vowed to exercise daily, and we stayed busy as ever.
Here's to December! The Christmas tree is up, the lights adorn the house, the stockings hang from the chimney and gifts are wrapped under the tree. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!

Prayers Please

I've always wanted to do this to a pack of cigarettes but I never was able to muster up enough courage do endure the wrath of a smoker. I can't see them accepting this too well although it would be extrememly funny! Maybe I could do this to another smoker and leave before they realize it's me. There's an idea....

Pumpkin Patch
Courtnie lost her Slurpee super quick. I think she may have gotten a drink or two before having to hand it over. T really, really liked it and didnt offer one drink to anyone else. Look Mom, I put a bib on her! I kept that white shirt clean!!
Colton was a bit hesitant on the hayride. He wasnt quite sure what we were doing but finally figured out it was pretty fun. T loved it from the begining, so long as she was able to stand up and see for herself.
Miley Cyrus Concert

Dear Family
I write to you from complete exhaustion. Cameron, I am so happy that you got to go to the Fair yesterday with your friend. Courtnie, I am thrilled you got to see Miley Cyrus in concert last night! Colton, the weather was an absolute blessing; you spent almost the entire day yesterday outside playing. And Jason, I'm so happy your favorite teams won their football games yesterday and I am sorry you lost in one of your Fantasy Football leagues by one point.
Let me take this moment to let you know all of the fun things I did yesterday - got up and fed you breakfast, cleaned up your mess from breakfast, bought groceries for us all to eat, helped put those groceries away, fed you lunch, cleaned up your mess from lunch, packed Tynzlie's things away and took her home, re-cleaned the kitchen since my dear family forgot to complete that task, started laundry and completed 4 loads (washed, dried and folded), made dinner, fed you dinner, cleaned up your mess from dinner. This also includes getting my self showered and dressed, getting several of you dressed and presentable, doing hair, reminding you multiple times throughout the day to pick your things up, to stop running in and out of the house, to work together to solve your problems.
Let me clarify... I am not writing all this to say I did everything around the house. Maybe you did something I happened to miss or maybe you just didn't realize all that Mom was doing. But family, I'm tired. It was my Sunday too and it came and went so quickly and my break finally came at 8pm when I finished my shower and crawled into bed.
The mess and crumbs on the kitchen floor, not mine. The food pressed into the grout and stuck to the sides of the baseboards, not mine. The toothpaste smeared all over the bathroom mirror, sink, counter and cabinets, not mine. The socks and shoes, toys, clothes, and blankets scattered throughout the house, not mine. The leaves and twigs pressed into the carpet and crumbled on the tile, not mine.
I write this to let you know, Mom is going to use this week as her Sunday (or Sundays rather). I'm tired of cleaning up your mess. I did go ahead and sweep and mop the kitchen floor this morning. I did not however get on my hands and knees (like I normally do every Monday) and clean the grout and baseboards. I did wash and dry the towels. I also made the bed! But after this, I'm officially off duty for the week. I will continue to make you breakfast and dinner! But you are making your own lunches (I heard that sigh!). You are also going to clean up your own mess and I am not sorry if this means you have to get on your hands and knees to do so.
I also plan to take a nap today. Please don't call me during this precious time, it comes so rarely these days. I'm also going to have a Dr. Pepper today and some chocolate. I know I recently told you I was going to give these things up and I truly do want to lose those 5 lbs. But I think I might splurge and indulge myself in a new pair of jeans, even if they are a size bigger than last year's.
I say all of this because I LOVE YOU! I want you to learn to take care of yourself and maybe in the process to recognize how much you don't have to do. I think sometimes it's hard to see just how much your Mom takes care of you because things are always done - the house is always clean, your clothes are always laundered, the food is always on the table. But family just as much as you appreciate all this, that appreciation needs to be shown. I try to be humble and do that silent service we are called to do and I understand this is my "job" and its what I want to do most in life. (This job is quite rewarding!) There are some days though that just aren't quite fair. It's very discouraging to see all of you have fun and relax while I continue to work around the house. Just as you need a break from your weekly routine and a time to yourself, so does Mom. Please keep this in mind while you watch TV and play outside and you see Mom still cleaning. Please keep this in mind when Mommy escapes to the bathroom for a moment of silence. Hey maybe you could even cook me dinner one night soon?
As I close this letter to you, I'm getting up to put the chairs and bar stools back in the kitchen. I'm going to sign and read all those papers you've left on the kitchen counter for me. I'll also unload the dishwasher. And Colton, I promise to feed you lunch! But that's about it for my Monday to-do list.
I love you all,
Mom

High Maintenance Woman
Why exactly does "high maintenance" mean? I generally apply the term to women rather than automobiles, housekeeping, good health, upkeep of the computer and websites, or yard work. Right or wrong, I think of high maintenance women as those who think they need to look good on a daily basis, one who doesn't know how to kick back in a pair of jeans and a T with no makeup on, someone who has to have their nails done, tans and has routine Mani's and Pedi's, who spends more time grooming themselves than any other member of their family, one who is hard to please and needs extra time and effort put into her, and someone who is particular yet troublesome.
To be fair, I thought I'd get a man's opinion on what he views as high maintenance. Here is what my dearest had to say: a person who wants more things than can be provided, needs someone to take care of them, has to be the center of attention.
